We stumbled on doing this by accident one night when we were making pizza for dinner. As a family of 9, we need two pizzas to not be hungry after dinner. One night, we were going to have a couple family members over and I only have two pans so we were not going to have enough food.

We made extra pizza dough and randomly decided to top one of the pizzas with it and there we had it. Pizza pot pie! We added extra filling to it and it’s a staple we make anytime we make pizza now! BONUS, we didn’t need to buy more pans!
Ingredients:
2 TBSP yeast
3 cups warm water
3 tsp salt
6-8 cups flour
Your favorite pizza toppings!!
Optional: 4 tbsp melted butter
Salt for sprinkling
2 tsp garlic powder
See Notes at the bottom of the directions

Directions:
Stir yeast and water together
Add salt and 5 cups and mix
Add flour a half cup at a time till you have a soft and workable dough but not sticky
Let the dough rise for 30min
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees
Once risen, divide the dough into two halves
Roll out one half on a greased baking stone or pan
Top with your favorite pizza toppings! I prefer a saucy, cheesy, ham and pineapple pizza.
Also try, BBQ chicken, or buffalo chicken, or go with the classic pepperoni or sausage.
Roll out your other half of the dough on the counter and place it on top of your pizza,
Press the two halves of the dough together to seal it
Bake for 20-30min.
Check after 20 min to see if the pizza is golden brown, if not, bake it in 5 min increments until it is golden brown
Let rest for 10 min and enjoy!
NOTES: Once it is done baking, you can leave the top, brush with a little butter, and sprinkle with salt and garlic powder before resting it for 10 min.
