We aren’t a wealthy family. We do not have money to upgrade things when we want or need to. What happens when your bathroom needs an upgrade? or you just desperately want a change. This is what we did:
We have a functional bathroom. There is nothing necessarily wrong with it. However, it isn’t what I would like. Eventually, I will take out the cabinets and sink and get new ones but right now, it isn’t financially possible so I had to do what I could on a very limited budget.
Easily changeable things is where I focused. I came up with my dream bathroom and a goal to work towards and worked from there.
I looked at the shower curtain. This is usually an inexpensive item that can really change the feel of your bathroom and there are so many options!! This is my shower curtain HERE>
You can also look at your rug. Do you have a rug? Do you want one or would you rather leave that out? Do you need a rug In front of the sink and toilet? This is fun! You can often find a good match to your shower curtain. This is my favorite bath rug, super squishy and easy to vacuum off. You can find it HERE> Or a 3 piece set HERE>
One thing we did need to do was replace our tub fixtures. The handle was broken so we decided to get a whole new set. This gave the bathroom a newer feel even though most things were the same. It can really change the feel of the bathroom as well, brushed bronze, stainless steel, and black can all change the feel of a space.
You can also look at your hand towels. You can sometimes match these to your rugs and shower curtains! I don’t have a bathroom that supports this look well as mine is small and that makes it feel busy but I can choose good complimentary colors. This way, I was able to upgrade my bathroom’s look and feel without having to break the budget or do any crazy construction.
